Wills · England & Wales only

The will that tells you when it's wrong.

Legally binding once signed and witnessed correctly. Built inside a solicitor-signed simple-will boundary. Watched afterward — because marriage, divorce, children, property changes and pension-rule changes can quietly change what your will actually does.

Rather have it done for you? Your will is checked, flagged for anything complex, and returned within 24–48 hours — not the 3–20 working days others quote. And where it needs a solicitor, we have our own.

§1

What a will actually needs.

Most will services start with the document. The document matters — but what happens around it decides whether it works when your family needs it.

01
Made properly
Built inside a 21-check simple-will boundary signed off by a practising solicitor. If your answers show the will needs more than that boundary can safely carry, we say so before you pay — and route you to a specialist with your answers and the reason for the referral already prepared.
02
Signed properly
Two witnesses, physically present. We ask the eligibility questions that catch the classic mistakes — like a beneficiary witnessing — before you print, and record who witnessed, when, and where the original is kept.
03
Watched afterward
A will is a photograph of one day. Marriage, divorce, a new child, a move — we flag it the moment one of them puts your will at risk.
04
Ready on the day
Your executor doesn't get a document and a search. They get the plan — where everything is, who to contact, what happens first.
§2

A system that's allowed to say no.

We built a system that's allowed to say no to you. Most services will sell a will to anyone. Ours checks first. Simple situation — you self-serve today. Complexity the checks catch — you get a written explanation of exactly why, and a named route to a specialist who handles it properly. No silent upsell; the check is free either way.

What Will Watch actually catches

A will is a photograph of one day — Will Watch is what tells you the picture has changed.

Marriage
revokes your will the moment you marry

Marriage can revoke your will the moment you marry. Most people find out too late. We flag it when your record changes.

April 2027
pensions move into the IHT picture

From April 2027 — under law already in force — many unused pensions move into the inheritance-tax picture. If your old nomination form and your will now point in different directions, your family may be left untangling both.

£0
of RNRB relief, misdirected

In the wrong estate, one badly aimed property clause can waste up to £70,000 of residence nil-rate-band relief.

This is what Will Watch is. Not a reminder to “review your will” — automated monitoring that knows what changed and what it puts at risk.

Your will remains legally valid on its own terms whether or not you keep Will Watch running.

Three ways to get a will
§5

Why £149?

A solicitor's judgment costs £150–£650+ and is worth every penny when your situation needs it

Online services charge £60–£160 for the document — correct on the day you sign it, and left to drift after. There are none that keep it accurate

£149, self-service, within eligibility rules signed off by a practising solicitor, evidenced at signing, watched afterward — and honest, before you pay, about which of the three you actually need.

FAQ

Wills, questions answered.

Yes. A will made here is legally binding under the law of England & Wales once it is signed correctly and witnessed by two eligible witnesses — provided, as with any will, that you have capacity to make it.

We ask the witness-eligibility questions that catch the classic mistakes before you print, and record the execution evidence: who witnessed, when, and where the original is kept.
Then we tell you — before you pay. The free check runs the 21 rules a solicitor signed. If one fires, you get a written explanation and a route to a Signum specialist.

A simple will that shouldn't be simple is the most expensive kind.
You can get a valid document for less, and for some people that's genuinely enough.

£149 buys what happens around the document: the boundary check, the witnessed-execution evidence, registration, and a year of Will Watch. The document is the cheapest part of getting this right.
Yes, and we would rather you knew about it. The check on this page is free and stays free — it runs the eligibility rules and tells you where you stand whether or not you buy anything. There's a free blank will template in the library, and the seasonal charity schemes and free-will services are set out on our will-cost page.

A will you write yourself is legally valid if it's signed and witnessed correctly — the law doesn't require a professional. What a free route can't do is tell you when it has quietly gone wrong: a witness who is also a beneficiary, a marriage that revokes the whole thing, or a will nobody can find. That's the gap the paid route closes, and the answer above sets out exactly what £149 covers.
The rules that decide what a simple will can safely carry were designed and signed by a practising solicitor, regulated by the SRA in their personal capacity. Valoren is not itself an SRA-regulated firm.

When the check says your situation needs a solicitor's judgment, that's exactly where we send you.
Yes — £229 for both. Mirror wills are two separate wills written to mirror each other, built in one sitting, each signed and witnessed individually — including guardianship if you have children.
Will Watch is automated monitoring of the will: rules watching your records for the changes that revoke or distort it — marriage, divorce, a new child, or a change to your executor, guardian, beneficiary, gifts, or address. It is not a person re-reading your will each year — that's why it can cost £8.99.

The Household Continuity Dossier watches the household the will sits in: every record, the people named in them, the law changing around them, with an annual report.

One document watched, or everything watched.
We don't store the original — you keep it, and we record where you've told us it's kept, so your executor isn't searching.

Registration is with the National Will Register, the UK's will-location register: it records where your will is, not its contents, and it's included in the price, registered after your 14-day cooling-off period. Registration isn't a legal requirement — it's how wills get found.
Yes. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different succession law; a will built here is designed for E&W estates.

Assets or family there are a genuine reason to take jurisdiction-specific advice.
Boundary

The rules that decide what a simple will can safely carry were designed and signed by a practising solicitor, regulated by the SRA in their personal capacity. Valoren is not itself an SRA-regulated firm. A will made through Valoren is designed for straightforward estates under England & Wales law only. If the free check identifies a situation the simple-will boundary cannot safely carry, you will be told before you pay and routed to a Signum specialist. This is not legal, tax, or financial advice.
