A significant asset change

- An updated estate valuation reflecting the change
- Property folio entries — title, holding structure, mortgage
- Gift records and dates (relevant to the IHT seven-year position)
- Pension records where a decant or transfer has occurred
Authority to prove
- Whether the will's distribution still matches the new asset shape
Formal requirements
- Crossing IHT thresholds changes the account that may be required on death
- Lifetime gifts carry a seven-year tail relevant to the IHT position
- The April 2027 pension transition makes decanting decisions time-sensitive
