Event review · a review falls due

A significant asset change

A secondary event whose whole significance is the review it should trigger. A purchase, sale, large gift, windfall or pension decision can move the estate across thresholds the existing plan assumed away.

§I
What changes

The estate's value, its IHT exposure and the right distribution can all shift. Records made for a smaller (or differently-shaped) estate quietly stop matching reality — and the gap only surfaces at the next primary event.

Records to locate
  • An updated estate valuation reflecting the change
  • Property folio entries — title, holding structure, mortgage
  • Gift records and dates (relevant to the IHT seven-year position)
  • Pension records where a decant or transfer has occurred
Authority to prove
  • Whether the will's distribution still matches the new asset shape
Formal requirements
  • Crossing IHT thresholds changes the account that may be required on death
  • Lifetime gifts carry a seven-year tail relevant to the IHT position
  • The April 2027 pension transition makes decanting decisions time-sensitive
Immediate actions
  • Re-model the estate against current law
  • Record the change in the property or pension folio
  • Check the will still distributes sensibly

When you're ready to build
Make the records this event needs — once, properly.

Valoren builds and keeps the household record to the Estate Standard, so the next continuity event finds everything already in place.

Continuity layer

What this becomes inside Valoren

Stored in your records system

The information you've just shared lives in your Valoren records — encrypted, organised, ready when you or your trusted person needs it.

The path you've just seen lives inside Valoren as the starting shape of your continuity system.

Each step on it becomes a record, a relationship, or a document — held current, surfaced when it matters, visible to the people who need it.

Kept current for you

Tax thresholds change. Pension rules change. Family circumstances change.

Your records system updates the relevant outputs when they do — no need to redo this.

Surfaced when it matters

The right document for the right moment. Day-one of a bereavement. A capacity event. An executor's first hour.

The system already knows what to produce.

Visible to the people who need it

Your trusted person sees what you've chosen to share, when you've chosen to share it.

No password handover. No "where are the documents." A real continuity layer above your will.
