Event review · a review falls due

You've received an inheritance

A secondary event — not because it matters less, but because it modifies your existing state rather than placing a substitute operator in control. Its significance is in what happens if you don't review.

§I
What changes

Receiving assets can shift your own Inheritance Tax exposure, change what your will should do, and date your nominations. The operational risk is deferral — the review that never happens before the next primary event.

Records to locate
  • An updated picture of your own estate value after the inheritance
  • Your current will against the new asset position
  • Pension and insurance nominations that may now be out of proportion
Authority to prove
  • Your own executor and attorney appointments — still the right people?
Formal requirements
  • A larger estate may cross IHT thresholds — the April 2027 pension transition is the most distorting change in a generation
  • A deed of variation may be relevant within the statutory window in some circumstances
Immediate actions
  • Re-model your own IHT position with the new assets
  • Check the will still distributes as you intend
  • Refresh nominations that the windfall has unbalanced

When you're ready to build
Make the records this event needs — once, properly.

Valoren builds and keeps the household record to the Estate Standard, so the next continuity event finds everything already in place.

Continuity layer

What this becomes inside Valoren

Stored in your records system

The information you've just shared lives in your Valoren records — encrypted, organised, ready when you or your trusted person needs it.

The path you've just seen lives inside Valoren as the starting shape of your continuity system.

Each step on it becomes a record, a relationship, or a document — held current, surfaced when it matters, visible to the people who need it.

Kept current for you

Tax thresholds change. Pension rules change. Family circumstances change.

Your records system updates the relevant outputs when they do — no need to redo this.

Surfaced when it matters

The right document for the right moment. Day-one of a bereavement. A capacity event. An executor's first hour.

The system already knows what to produce.

Visible to the people who need it

Your trusted person sees what you've chosen to share, when you've chosen to share it.

No password handover. No "where are the documents." A real continuity layer above your will.
